What It's About

Tablas Creek is a pioneer of California's Rhone movement. Founded in 1989, it is the culmination of a friendship between two of the international wine community's leading families dating back to 1967: the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel and the Haas family of Vineyard Brands.

After a long search, the partners chose Paso Robles, California, for its many similarities to the southern Rhone, and began the lengthy process of importing vine cuttings, building a grapevine nursery, and creating an estate vineyard from scratch.

Tablas Creek became the world's first Regenerative Organic Certified® vineyard because they believe in the potential for regenerative agriculture to make a meaningful contribution to solving the world's most pressing climate and resource challenges.

Jason Haas is the second generation proprietor of Tablas Creek. He learned the wine business at an early age, accompanying his father Robert Haas on European wine-buying trips and spending two summers working at Château de Beaucastel. As General Manager of Tablas Creek since 2006, he oversees the business, winemaking, and sales and marketing operations. In addition to his work at Tablas Creek, Jason serves on the Board of Directors of the Rhone Rangers (as Past President) and Free the Grapes, and is a former board member of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance and Family Winemakers of California. He was voted by his peers 2015 Paso Robles Wine Country Wine Industry Person of the Year and 2017 San Luis Obispo County Wine Industry Person of the Year. In 2022 he was named one of the inaugural class of Food & Wine Magazine Drinks Innovators of the Year.
